ಕೇರಳದಲ್ಲಿ ೧೪ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಿವೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭೌಗೋಳಿಕ, ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಸಾಮ್ಯತೆಗಳ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಮೂರು ಭಾಗಗಳಾಗಿ ವಿಂಗಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ - ಉತ್ತರ ಕೇರಳ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಾದ ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು, ಕಣ್ಣೂರು, ವಯನಾಡ್, ಕಲ್ಲಿಕೋಟೆ; ಮಧ್ಯ ಕೇರಳ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಾದ ಮಲಪ್ಪುರಂ, ಪಾಲಕ್ಕಾಡ್, ತ್ರಿಶೂರ್, ಎರ್ನಾಕುಲಂ; ಮತ್ತು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕೇರಳ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಾದ ಇಡುಕ್ಕಿ,ಕೊಟ್ಟಾಯಂ, ಆಲಪುಳ, ಪತ್ತನಂತಿಟ್ಟ, ಕೊಲ್ಲಂ ಮತ್ತು ತಿರುವನಂತಪುರಂ.

ಇತಿಹಾಸ[ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿ]

ರಚನೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕೇರಳವು ಕೇವಲ ಐದು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿತ್ತು: ಮಲಬಾರ್, ತ್ರಿಶೂರ್, ಕೊಟ್ಟಾಯಂ, ಕೊಲ್ಲಂ ಮತ್ತು ತಿರುವನಂತಪುರಂ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳು ನಂತರ ಉಳಿದವುಗಳನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
