BUT HIS PARTICULAR VOCATIONS WORTH FOR SOCIETY NOT ACCIDENTAL BIRTH, BUT INTRINSIC WORTH.

The Recipe

Into a bare handful of bones and skin
Pour just an ounce or so of flesh and blood;
Put in a heart loveful as Sea in flood;
Likewise a mind sea-deep and free from sin,
Fix on two jumboo ears,... two goo-goo eyes
Paint on a smile of babe at mother's breast,
Inclose a soul that caps Himavat's crest;
And speaks with tongue which honey's sweet defies;
The "stuffing"? Goat's milk, soya-beans and dates,
Now, cover to brim with suffering human's years;
And bake this dish in gaol for one score years
Take out and garnish it with pariah mates,
Wrap up in rag, prop up with lithe bamboo
And serve; The world Redeemer; Our Bapu.

ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ

‘ಬಾಫೂ’ ಎಂಬ ಖಾದ್ಯ ತಯಾರಿ ಕ್ರಮ

ಚರ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲುಬುಗಳು ಬೆರಳೆಣಿಕೆಯಷ್ಟು;
ಮಾಂಸ ಮತ್ತು ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದು ಔಂನ್ಸ್ ಅಥವಾ ಅಷ್ಟು ಸುರಿಯಿರಿ;
ಪ್ರವಾಹದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸಮುದ್ರದಂತಿರುವ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಹೃದಯವ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿಸಿ;
ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಆಳವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾಪಮುಕ್ತವಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸು,
ಎರಡು ಜಂಬೂ ಕಿವಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಸಿ - ... ಎರಡು ಗೂ-ಗೂ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು
ತಾಯಿಯ ಸ್ತನದಲ್ಲಿನ ಮಗುವಿನ ನಗುವಿನ ಮೇಲು ಬಣ್ಣ,
ಹಿಮವತ್‌ನ ಚಿಹ್ನೆಯ ತೋರುವ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿ;
ಮತ್ತು ಜೇನುತುಪ್ಪದ ಸವಿ ಮೀರಿಸುವ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ಮಾತನು (ಆಡುತ್ತದೆ);
ಅದಕೆ "ತುಂಬುವುದು"? ಮೇಕೆ ಹಾಲು, ಸೋಯಾ-ಬೀನ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಖರ್ಜೂರ,
ಈಗ, ಮಾನವನ ವರ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದ ಅನುಭವದ ತಟ್ಟೆ ಮುಚ್ಚಿ;
ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಖಾದ್ಯವನು ಸಾಧನೆಗಳ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲದ ತಪ್ಪಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಯಿಸಿ
ಹೊರಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅದನ್ನು ದಲಿತ ಅಸ್ಪೃಶ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಾತಿಗಳಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿ,
ಚಿಂದಿ ಸುತ್ತಿ, ಚುರುಕು ಬಿದಿರು ದೊಣ್ಣೆಗೆ ಆಧಾರ ಮಾಡಿ
ಮತ್ತು ಇದನ್ನು ಬಡಿಸಿ- ಈ ಖಾದ್ಯವೇ; ವಿಶ್ವ ವಿಮೋಚಕ; ನಮ್ಮ ಬಾಪು.
