ತಾಜುದ್ದೀನ್
ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ತಮಿಳು ರಾಜ ಚೇರಮಾನ್ ಪೆರುಮಾಳ್ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ತಾಜುದ್ದೀನ್, ಇಸ್ಲಾಂ ಧರ್ಮ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದ ಮೊದಲ ಭಾರತೀಯ ರಾಜನಾಗಿ ಇತಿಹಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.[೧][೨][೩] ಆತನ ಮತಾಂತರದ ನಂತರ, ಸಿದ್ಧರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಾವುಕ್ಕುಪೋನ ಪೆರುಮಾಳ್ ("ಮಕ್ಕಾಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದ ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿ") ಎಂಬ ಬಿರುದನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು.[೪][೫] ಆತನ ಮತಾಂತರದ ಕಥೆಯು ಕುತೂಹಲಕಾರಿ ಘಟನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿದ್ದು, ಚಂದ್ರನ ನಿಗೂಢ ವಿಭಜನೆಯ ಸುತ್ತ ಸುತ್ತುತ್ತಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕ್ಷಣವಾಗಿದೆ.[೬][೭]
