Hello Susrutha,

I am Shiju Alex. I am from Malayalam Wikipedia. I have some suggestions.

• If you have atleast 5-6 active users then why can't you hold an election for baueraucrat. Kannada is one of the active Indian wikipedias and it is better to have your own baueraucrat.

• To help users to type Kannada easily why can't you integrate an inbuilt transliteration tool into Kannada wikipedia. We have done this in Malayalam wikipedia and wikisource and the response is great.

• Also why can't you take the help from some regional kannada language newspapers to publish an article about Wikipedia with special importance to Kannada wikipedia. Malayalam wikipedia has got some nice coverage recently through some Malayalam newspapers and we got some very good users. --Shijualex ೦೮:೪೯, ೧೦ October ೨೦೦೭ (UTC)

We have also included more toolbar icons to the edit window. This is helping the new users to a great extent. Please edit any article in Malayalam wiki and see the additional buttons that we have added. We have also rearranged some buttons for better usability.

First of all, I am sorry for the late response. I have made two edits in the Mediawiki talk pages. Please include these changes in the respective mediawiki pages and you can get Kannada input system. Plus, please pardon me for my lack of knowledge of Kannada characters. The transliteration inputs might not be as per its use in Kannada or some extra characters might be there from Devnagari system. Kannada Baraha

I tried writng one article without using 'BARAHA'.With little trouble ,I could complete it.I want your guidance for -

1.How to write the word 'Anie Beasant' in kannada? i.e, the letter'A'.In kannda lipi we write it & there is help in baraha (kannada transliteration rules-examples)for this.But if I use the same keys the letter will not appear.I wish to know whether there is any article on 'Anie Beasant'. 2.If I am writing any article in Baraha,to toggle between english & kannada I will use F12 KEY.But when I followed the instructions as mentioned above here,the entire stuff disappeared.Please guide mein this matter.--Rajalakshmi ೧೩:೩೪, ೨೭ October ೨೦೦೭ (UTC)

ಶುಶ್ರುತರವರಿಗೆ ವಂದನೆಗಳು. ಈಚೆಗೆ ನಾನು World Heritage Sites ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಒಂದು ಲೇಖನಸರಣಿಯನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದೆನು. 'ವಿಶ್ವ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ತಾಣ' ಎಂಬ ಅನುವಾದವನ್ನೂ ಮೇಲಿನ ಆಂಗ್ಲಭಾಷೆಯ ಪದಗುಚ್ಛಕ್ಕೆ ನೀಡಿದೆನು. ಈ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಲೇಖನವನ್ನು ಜೋಡಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿದ್ದೆಂದರೆ 'ಪ್ರಪಂಚ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳು' ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನ ವರ್ಗವೊಂದು ವಿಕಿಪೀಡಿಯಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಇರುವುದು. ಈಗ ಈ ಎರಡು ಕನ್ನಡ ರೊಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸೂಕ್ತವಾದುದು ಯಾವುದೆಂಬ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಗೊಂದಲವುಂಟಾಗಿದೆ. ನಾನು 'ವಿಶ್ವ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ತಾಣ' ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಹಲವು ಬಾರಿ ನಾನಾಕಡೆ ಓದಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನೆನಪು. ಈ ಗೊಂದಲ ನಿವಾರಣೆಯಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಲೇಖನಸರಣಿಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಬಹುದು. ಬಿಡುವಾದಾಗ ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಗಮನ ಹರಿಸಿ. ಶೇಷಾದ್ರಿ ೧೫:೨೧, ೫ November ೨೦೦೭ (UTC)

೧.By using ctrl+esc+z together I was able to toggle between languages.My next point about writing the word 'Annie beasant' in kannada is - 'Annie' ಪದವನ್ನು ಸಾಧಾರಣವಾಗಿ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯುವಾಗ,ಮೊದಲು ’ಆ’ ಬರೆದು,ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ’ಯ’ವತ್ತು(small ya) ಕೊಟ್ಟು,ನಂತರ ’ನಿ’ ಬರೆಯುತ್ತೇವೆ.ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ’baraha help topics'ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿರುವ key ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿದರೂ ಹಾಗೆ ಬರೆಯಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಿಮಗೇನಾದರೂ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಇದ್ದರೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿ.

Main Page Article

Dear Shushruta You might have noticed that most of the articles prepared and incorporated by me into kannada-wiki are translations from english wiki. In order to circumvent any copyright issues, I have chosen this mode of enriching kn-wiki. I personally feel that the main page of our beloved wiki should have an original article. I shall look into your request in this regard and try to build an article which would be original to the maximum extent. It might take some time.

Dear sir, I tried to post my article ಆನೆ on the main page. I could not succeed. currently the brief form of that article has been saved as ವಿಶೇಷ ಬರಹ/ಸಂಚಿಕೆ-೩೬ . I know that the name of the brief article is improper. But I am unable to proceed further without the risk of messing up the entire main page. Where can I see the JavaScript code for that? I see the problem: sUrya, sURya, sUr^ya, sUR^ya none of them are rendering ಸೂರ್‍ಯ. However, with sUrya, ಸೂರ್ಯ is coming fine. The post is typed using Baraha IME.

Also there is another unrelated problem. When I type both Kannada and English words using automated feature, and when I press Esc it removes all the English words. Have you noticed this?
