ಕನ್ನೇಲಿ ಶಿಲಾಶಾಸನವು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಮಡಿವಾಳದ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ತಳಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಈ ಶಾಸನ ಸುಮಾರು ಕ್ರಿ.ಶ ೧೨೪೭ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರ ಗಾತ್ರ ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ಗ್ರಂಥ ಮತ್ತು ತಮಿಳು ಲಿಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ.

ಎಪಿಗ್ರಾಫಿಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಿಕದ ಒಂಭತ್ತನೇ ಸಂಪುಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಶಾಸನವು BN62 ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಡಿ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿರುವ ಪಠ್ಯ ಈ ರೀತಿ ಇದೆ. [೧]

ಅರ್ಥ[ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿ]
(Tamil)- (On the date specified), for the success of the arm and sword of ……………. I, Sembadai………. Of Tamaraikkirai, granted certain lands (specified) to a certain number of persons (named) at the rate of a many shares (specified) each for reciting the Vedas in the temple of Sayamuram-udaiya-nayanar. They shall enjoy these shares these shares for as long as the moon and the sun endure. (usual final imprecatory sentence). Pemmattaiyar of Veppur granted some lands (specified) below the big tank of Vengalur for the god Sembasuram-udaiya-nayanar. I, Kudal-amattiya’s son Amattiyan, ? renewed the grant of the above lands for as long as the moon and the sun exist. (usual final imprecatory sentence).
