We, as the people of Karnataka, have come across various forms of art and dance. But the most frequently watched or heard of is Yakshagana. A form of dance and play that has wonderful colors and costumes involved. The actors dance and act for various plays including the popular Indian epics RAMAYAN AND MAHABHARATH.

People love watching Yakshagana where the background as well as stage music is performed live by the artists who are seated right next to the stage. Yakshagana holds lots of importance in the cultural aspects of South India. It mainly comes from coastal Karnataka.
