ಡಾ ಎನ್.ಬಿ.ಶ್ರೀಧರ ಇವರು ಬಿವಿಎಸ್ಸಿಸಿ ಪದವಿಯನ್ನು ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಬೀದರಿನಲ್ಲಿ 1990 ರಲ್ಲಿ, ನಂತರ ಬರೇಲಿಯ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಅನುಸಂಧಾನ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂವಿಎಸ್ಸಿ ಪದವಿಯನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿ, 1992 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪಶುಪಾಲನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಪಶುಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾಲಯ ತಾಳಗುಪ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಇವರು ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯರಾಗಿ ಸಾಗರ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯರಾಗಿದ್ದು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಸ್ತರಣಾ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಪಶುಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾಲಯ ತಾಳಗುಪ್ಪಕ್ಕೆ "ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಮಾದರಿ ಪಶುಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾಲಯ" ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಬಂದರೆ ಡಾ:ಎನ್.ಬಿ. ಶ್ರೀಧರರವರಿಗೆ ಅವರ ಕಡಿಮೆ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದ "ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಟ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯ" ಬಂದಿತು. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಅನೇಕ ಸಂಘ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಇವರನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಿದವು. ಜಾನುವಾರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇವರು ಮಾಡಿದ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪದಕದ ಜೊತೆ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಪ್ರಬಂಧ ಲೇಖನ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಭಿತ್ತಿ ಚಿತ್ರ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಅನೇಕ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳು ದೊರೆತಿವೆ. ಇವರು ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಮಾಡಿದ ಅನೇಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ “ಯುವ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿ” “ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಟ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಬರಹಗಾರ” ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳು ದೊರೆತಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಇವರು 2004 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಹೆಚ್ಡಿನ ಪದವಿಯನ್ನು ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂರೈಸಿ ನಂತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಪಶು ಹಾಗೂ ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕೆ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ಬೀದರದ ಅಧೀನದ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಔಷಧಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಷಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯರಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ 15 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಅಪಾರ ಅನುಭವ ಇವರಿಗೆ ಪಠ್ಯಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಮೂದಾಗದೇ ಇರುವ ಜಾನುವಾರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹಲವಾರು ನಿಗೂಢ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಘಟ್ಟ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಸ್ಯಜನ್ಯ ವಿಷಬಾಧೆಗಳಾದ ಬಸರಿ ಸೊಪ್ಪಿನ ವಿಷಬಾಧೆ, ವಾಯುವಿಳಂಗ ಗಿಡದ ವಿಷಬಾಧೆ, ಮುಳ್ಳಿಲ್ಲದ ನಾಚಿಕೆ ಗಿಡದ ವಿಷಬಾಧೆ, ಕಳಲೆಯ ವಿಷಬಾಧೆ, ಅಡಿಕೆ ತೊಗರಿನ ವಿಷಬಾಧೆ, ಶಿಲೀಂದ್ರ ಪೀಡಿತ ವಿವಿಧ ಮೇವುಗಳ ವಿಷಬಾಧೆ ಅಲ್ಲದೇ ಇನ್ನೂ ಅನೇಕ ನಿಗೂಢ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಈ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ರೈತರಿಗೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸಿ ಸಹಸ್ರಾರು ಜಾನುವಾರುಗಳ ಜೀವ ಉಳಿಸಲು ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಲ್ಲದೇ ಇನ್ನೂ ಅನೇಕ ಹೊಸ ರೀತಿಯ ಸಸ್ಯಜನ್ಯ ವಿಷಬಾಧೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇವರು ಅಗಾಧ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಔಷಧ ಕಂಡುಹಿಡಿದು ಮಾಡಿ ಸಹಸ್ರಾರು ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ಜೀವ ಉಳಿಸಲು ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಮುಂದುವರೆದಿದೆ. ಇವರು ಬಹಳ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 35 ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು 10 ಡಾಕ್ಟರೇಟ್ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕಾಗಿದ್ದು 94 ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಲಹಾ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇವರ ಬಹುತೇಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ದೇಶ ವಿದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಹುದ್ದೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಸಿತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇವರು 165 ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಜಾಸ್ತಿ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಲೇಖನಗಳನ್ನು ಉತ್ತಮ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಜರ್ನಲ್ಗಯಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆಂಗ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 11 ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳ ಲೇಖಕರಾದ ಇವರ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ರಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ರೈತರಿಗೆ ಉಪಯೋಗವಾಗುವ ಕನ್ನಡ ಲೇಖನಗಳು ನಾಡಿನ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಾದ ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಪ್ರಜಾವಾಣಿ, ಉದಯವಾಣಿ, ವಿಜಯವಾಣಿ, ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಕ್ಷೀರಸಾಗರ, ಅಡಿಕೆ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ, ತರಂಗ, ಸುಧಾ, ಕೃಷಿ ಮುನ್ನಡೆ, ಪಶುಸಿರಿ, ಪಶುಬಂಧ ಅಲ್ಲದೇ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹಲವಾರು ದಿನ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ, ಪಾಕ್ಷಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಸಿಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ಬರುತ್ತಾ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ. ಪ್ರಸಕ್ತ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ದಿನಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯಾದ ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಇವರು "ಪಶು ಪ್ರೀತಿ" ಅಂಕಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ವಾರ ರೈತರನ್ನು ತಲುಪುವ ಅನೇಕ ಲೇಖನಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಾಡಿನ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ ವಿಜಯವಾಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇವರು "ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಲೋಕ" ಎಂಬ ಅಂಕಣವನ್ನು ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ಬರೆದಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸಪ್ನಾ ಬುಕ್ ಹೌಸ್, ನವಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪ್ರಕಾಶನ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ನಾಡಿನ ಪ್ರಖ್ಯಾತ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಗಾರರು ಇವರ ಹಲವಾರು ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸಪ್ನಾ ಪ್ರಕಾಶನ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಇವರು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ “ಹೈನು ಹೊನ್ನು” ಪುಸ್ತಕಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ 2014 ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ “ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಲೇಖಕ” ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತ್ತಿ ಬಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇವರು ಬರೆದ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಕನ್ನಡ ಪುಸ್ತಕವಾದ “ಜಾನುವಾರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಷಬಾಧೆ” ಕೃಷಿ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ 2016 ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ “ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಟ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೃಷಿ ಪುಸ್ತಕ” ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ದೊರೆತಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇವರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಬಾಲಕರ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ನಿಲಯದ ಮುಖ್ಯಕ್ಷೇಮಪಾಲಕರಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಮಾದರಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಲಯವಾಗಿ ಅಧುನಿಕೀಕರಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ಸಹಾಯವಾಗುವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಧುನಿಕಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಅವುಗಳ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾಗಿ, ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮತ್ತು ಸಣ್ಣ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಮಾಡಲು ಭಾರತ ಸರಕಾರದಿಂದ ಅನುಮತಿ ಪಡೆದಿರುವುದು ಇವರ ಹೆಗ್ಗಳಿಕೆ. ಸಾಕು ಶ್ವಾನದ ಕುರಿತು ಇವರು ಬರೆದ "ನಾಯಿ ಪಾಲನೆ: ಪೋಷಣೆ ಪುಸ್ತಕವು ಹಲವು ಮರು ಮುದ್ರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಪಶು ಹಾಗೂ ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕೆ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ 8 ನೇ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನ, ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಔಷಧಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಷಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞರ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನ ಅಲ್ಲದೇ ಇನ್ನೂ ಅನೇಕ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಸಂಘಟಕರಾಗಿ ಇವರು ನಡೆಸಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಉತ್ತಮ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಸಂಶೋಧಕರಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಇವರಿಗೆ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಘಟಿಕೋತ್ಸವದಲ್ಲಿ 15 ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪದಕ ನೀಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಉತ್ತಮ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗಾಗಿ ಇವರು ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಮಾಡಿದ ಅನೇಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು "ಯುವ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿ" ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಿಥಯ ಕೃಷಿ ವಿಕಾಸ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿ ಜಾನುವಾರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗಿಡಮೂಲಿಕೆ ಔಷಧಗಳ ಬಳಕೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮೌಲ್ಯಾಧಾರದ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ, ಜಾನುವಾರುಗಳ ಅನುತ್ಪಾದಕತೆಯ ನಿವಾರಣೆಗೆ ಇವರು ನಡೆಸಿದ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗಳು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ತನ್ಮೂಲಕ ರೈತರಿಗೆ ಅನುಕೂಲ ಒದಗಿಸಿವೆ. ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಔಷಧಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಷಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ಮತ್ತು ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ, ಇವರು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನೂತನವಾಗಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ 2017 ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಿರುವ ಜಾನುವಾರುಗಳ ನಿಗೂಢ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಗಳ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಸಂಶೋಧಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾಗಿ, ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

: | Obtained the BVSc degree in the year 1990 from UAS Dharwad, MVSc in 1993 from IVRI, PhD in 2004 from UAS, Bangalore.
Experience Joined as Veterinary Officer in the Dept of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services 11-03-1992. Joined KVAFSU on 15-07-2005. On 20-01-2012 recruited as Associate Professor and presently working in the Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, Veterinary College, Shivamogga-577204 Research Guidance Served as Major Advisor of 33 MVSc students and 10 PhD students. Member of Advisory Committee for more than 112 students including MVSc/MSc/PhD. Offered various courses to UG and PG students. Publications: Written 4 books in Kannada as first author and writing Kannada articles to daily news papers for the benefit of Farmers. Published more than 139 articles in Journals and presented more than 120 papers in different conferences and symposia. Acted as member of several committees in College and University levels. |

Co-Principal Investigator of the project “Comparative efficacy evaluation of some herbal products in broilers and turkeys ” for Rs: 1,58,600 funded by Ayurvet for the year 2013-14. 4. Co-Principal Investigator of the project “Efficacy of herbal mycotoxin binders in amelioration of induced mycotoxicosis in layers” for Rs: 1,50,800 funded by Ayurvet for the year 2013-14 5. Co-Principal Investigator of the project “Studies on wound healing efficacy and safety of enhanced slow release iodine preparation in experimental animals” for Rs:156000-00 funded by SERCARE Bangalore for the year 2013-14 for the year 2013-14 6. Co-Principal Investigator of the project “Effect of polyherbal extract on hair follicles: permanent inhibition in laboratory animals” for Rs: 3,25,816-00 for the year 2013-14 Specialized in the field of Veterinary Toxicology (Plant Toxicosis, Mycotoxicosis etc) and also in Veterinary Pharmacology (Ethnopharmacology, Pharmacokinetics and Experimental Pharmacology).
